About Me:
I am 30 years old and a current member of the Tri Training Harder race team.
In 2003, at the age of 17 I joined the Royal Marines Commando's and
embarked on a six year career where I served in Afghanistan and Iraq. I left
the Royal Marines in 2008 and joined the Police.
Now a police officer I decided that I needed a challenge therefore
decided to start running more frequently. In my teenage years I had competed in
the Cross Country Regional and National Championships (bronze) so knew that I
wasn’t a bad runner.
Then in 2012 I decided that I would start training for triathlons due
to a friend telling me about this mad thing called an “Ironman”. The only
problem was that I could not swim freestyle however Tuff Fitty
Triathlon Club took me under their wing and with the patients of saints helped
me improve my technique, enabling me to gain confidence to enter my first
Triathlon.
In 2012 along with triathlons I also started entering marathons. My first
marathon was a trail marathon called Three Forts where I managed to come 2nd . Then in May 2012 I
entered my first triathlon, Arundel Sprint and came 2nd in my age
group and 15th overall.
After my first triathlon I decided it was time to enter Ironman Uk
which would give me just over a year to train.
During the 2013 season I entered Steyning Triathlon where
I came 2nd overal and Worthing Tri where I came 5th (1st in Age Group)
In August 2013 I became an
“Ironman” in a time of 10 hours 15 mins (44th overall /
7th age group) which takes me up to date with my progress.
In 2014 I was the first age grouper at Ironman UK (10th Overall / 1st 25-29) and qualified for Kona. I also completed Ironman Barcelona in 9:07.
For 2015 I am delighted I will be racing for the Tri Training Harder race team.
2015 saw me 8th overall at Ironman UK and 1st Age Grouper overall, which qualified me for the Ironman World Champs, Kona, Hawaii
